Aaron Scott
Aaron Scott Design is a furniture studio specializing in one-off, hand crafted furniture pieces. Aaron works individually with clients to conceive, design, and build the work from start to finish. The process is collaborative and open-ended, and a special effort is made to integrate new furniture into a client's existing aesthetic and practical needs. He began Aaron Scott Design in a small workshop in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2003. At that time he had little experience in design, but as an artist he had long worked with a variety of materials - wood, glass, and metal, and many of his sculptures had the look and feel of furniture even if they weren't intended for practical use. After he had gained some solid woodworking skills and spent time experimenting with different techniques, he began to build more ambitious pieces, pushing his design ideas into new territory.
