Nadia Belalia
Nadia Belalia is a sculptor and lamp designer. A self-taught artist, she was born and raised in the south of France and moved to NYC in 1989. She discovered metal as her medium while studying welding at Pratt University.
For years, Nadia has explored the art of recycling as a means to erase the boundaries between the industrial and natural worlds. She has developed different lines of lamps in which everyday objects such as scrubbers and colanders are transformed into cocoons, nests, and chrysalis.
She designs and hand fabricates all her lamps and custom pieces in her studio located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
